FAQ

What is the North Shore Round Up?

The North Shore Roundup is an AA Convention with Al-Anon/Alateen participation. Many friends and visitors of Alcoholics Anonymous and its members also attend. There are many AA conferences held around the world, but they are not the same as regular AA meetings. Conventions, conferences and Roundups are special events which require a substantial amount of funding.

The North Shore Roundup is sponsored by members of AA and Al-Anon whose home groups are in North Vancouver, West Vancouver and Bowen Island, District 18 of Area 79 of Alcoholics Anonymous.

The North Shore Roundup is attended by approximately 2,000 people, originally held on the North Shore, but moved to downtown Vancouver since the mid 1970’s. The North Shore Roundup is fully self-supporting. No group monies are used to pay for this event. The costs of this convention are met through registration fees. No baskets are passed at any time.
